Professional Hunters and Vehicles
Zambezi
Hunters use dedicated and highly experienced Professional Hunters. It is
something that we put great emphasis on and all our Professional Hunters
have a proven track record in the field and will ensure that you have a
successful and unforgettable safari. We also have a fleet of well
maintained, new model 4 wheel drive Toyota Landcruiser vehicles that are
fully rigged out for safari hunting.
Filming of Hunts (optional)
Capture
the excitement and adrenaline of your safari on film. For an extra $150 per
day, a cameraman with a high quality digital camcorder can accompany you on
your hunt. We will provide you with the full, unedited footage so that you
can re-live your hunt again and again. There will be an extra charge of $50
per day if you
would like the footage edited.
Catering
Our chefs will provide you with a wide
range of food from roast warthog and impala curry to guinea fowl casserole.
Your daily rate covers all your soft and hard drink requirements.
Wine is served with every meal and you’ll enjoy an unlimited supply
of ice to go with your drinks.
If you have any dietary preferences, please let us know and we will do our
best to accommodate them. Our camp staff are there to spoil you and will
cater to your every need.
Health
Each camp and hunting vehicle is equipped
with a well-stocked first aid box. However if you have personal allergies or
afflictions we recommend you bring along a sufficient supply of your own
medication. As Zimbabwe is prone to Malaria, we strongly advise you start a
course of anti-malarial prophylactics at least two weeks prior to your
arrival.
Firearms and Ammunition
The choice of firearm is left to our
clients, although National Parks regulations in Zimbabwe require minimum
calibers for certain species.
You will need a rifle of .375 or bigger for the heavy, thick skinned animals
such as buffalo or elephant and anything from a 30.06 upward for the smaller
soft skinned antelopes. We recommend you bring soft cases for your weapons as well as gun
cleaning equipment and gun belt with ammo pouches.
Depending on what you are hunting, you will need at least 60 rounds
of soft point and 40 rounds of full metal jackets.
We find Barnes X, Swift A frame and Nosler Partition to be excellent
for our game.
Clothing and Equipment
Daytime temperatures are warm throughout
the year so we recommend light clothing in green colours, however during the
winter months (mid May through to August) the nights and early mornings can
be very cold. A pair of well worn-in walking shoes is important as walking
is an integral part of hunting.
Other items that are important are binoculars, a knife, a camera with plenty
of film, sunglasses and a hat.
Finally wearing camouflage clothing in Zimbabwe is illegal, so please omit
such items from your gear.
Terms of Business
We confirm a safari on receipt of a
deposit calculated at 40% of the total daily rate of the hunt. This deposit
is non-refundable if the hunt is cancelled within 6 months of the start
date. If the hunt is cancelled prior to 6 months, 50% of the deposit will be
refunded. The balance of the daily rate is due 30 days prior to the
commencement of the safari. All other payments are settled at the end of the
hunt. All gratuities are at the
sole discretion of the client.
All prices are subject to change without notice.
Trophy Preparation
Your trophies will be expertly skinned and
field cured in the camp. We
will also arrange the packing, crating and export of your trophies with a
professional shipping agent.
